SQL Server: The media set has 2 media families but only 1 are provided

When you are restoring a database if you get error like the below one, no need to worry. Just take back up once again as explained.

Backup mediaset is not complete. Files D:\other\TEST. Family count:2. Missing family sequence number:1

This error message means that the original backup was done as a striped backup where the backup stream was split into two destination files. Depicted in below screen shot.

When attempting to restore, you need to specify all of the same files which were used to take the backup.
Take a back up again with one path selected and remove all other paths listed. Then you can restore successfully.
